Doctor in Philosophy from the University of Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. She served as Vice-Rector for Research at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru from 2009 to 2018, where she is also a professor in the Philosophy Section of the Academic Department of Humanities. She has been president of the Civil Association Transparency (2002-2012). Among her recognitions are the “Order of Merit for Women 2010”, granted by the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations; the distinction as “Meritorious Personality of Culture for her valuable contribution to education and philosophy”, awarded by the Ministry of Culture (2015); among others. She is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Place of Memory, Tolerance and Social Inclusion. Among her publications are Social Presence, Political Absence. Public spaces and women’s participation (2000), Tolerance Volume III: “Ethics and Politics” (co-edited with Ciro Alegría Varona and Fidel Tubino, 2011) as well as various articles on hermeneutics, political philosophy, human development, and gender published in specialized journals.
